The Knight's Ladies group was formed in August 1994 for the purpose of supporting the activities the Knights sponsor throughout the year. It would establish a friendship and union between the wives and we would meet on the same evening that the Knights have their meetings.
At our first meeting we decided to have more of a purpose than just making it a social event but to have events the ladies could call their own and all monies raised would be donated to charities or to the needs of our parish.
The first event held was a Christmas Boutique in December of 1994 in our church hall and to our amazement we raised $2000. In December of 2011 we celebrated our 17th year holding this event.
In 1998 we decided to put on a Fashion show as an additional event and use our members as models. Once again we amazed ourselves with a profit of $3000 by selling 300 tickets and we were able to help purchase all new chairs for the hall. This event is planned every several years.
Our newest fundraising started in 2009 with the Easter candy sale sold throughout the Lenten season and sold at the Lenten Fish dinners in the church hall.
We were approached by members of the parish saying there is no social group to join at church and do you have to be a member of the Knights, in 2010 we opened our group up to The Knight's Ladies & Friends and we now have several new ladies participating.
We invite all the newest members of the Knights family to join us on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. and if you haven't been in awhile please come back and join us as we would love to see you. There are several potlucks throughout the year and this would be a perfect time to get to know your Knight's family.
